Spaghetti and Meatballs
Here's a classic recipe loved by kids and adults alike.
1 lb. spaghetti
One 24-oz jar pasta sauce
1 lb. ground beef
1 large egg, beaten lightly
1/4 cup plain unseasoned bread crumbs
3 tbsp. olive oil
1tbsp. dried oregano
Garlic powder, to taste
Salt, to taste
Fresh-cracked black pepper, to taste
In a large bowl, combine the beef, bread crumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese and spices. Form 2-inch round meatballs. Begin cooking pasta according to the instructions on the package.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook until golden brown, turning occasionally for 5-10 minutes. Then, add the sauce and turn the heat down to medium. Simmer until the meatballs are cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
Put cooked pasta on plates, add the meatballs and sauce, and serve!
